Traumatic tricuspid regurgitation. Long-term survival.

چکیده
Three case histories of patients with isolated traumatic tricuspid regurgitation are reported. Clinical features are compared and contrasted to the I3 cases previously reported. The benign nature of the lesion is emphasized by the long-term follow-up periods of 39, I3, and 31 years respectively. The presence of a normal systolic pressure in the right ventricle may be one reason why isolated severe tricuspid regurgitation can have such a benign clinical course. The unimpressive and atypical systolic murmur led to a delay in the correct diagnosis of these three patients.

Long-Term Results of Mitral Valve Repair
INTRODUCTION Current guidelines state that patients with severe mitral regurgitation should be treated in reference centers with a high reparability rate, low mortality rate, and durable results. OBJECTIVE To analyze our global experience with the treatment of organic mitral regurgitation from various etiologies operated in a single center. METHODS We evaluated all surgically treated patien...

BACKGROUND Development of tricuspid regurgitation after orthotopic heart transplantation can cause heart failure along with renal and hepatic impairment and portends a poor prognosis. If tricuspid regurgitation causes significant symptoms, tricuspid valve repair or replacement is often required. This study was designed to study the effects of prophylactic tricuspid valve annuloplasty (TVA) duri...

Introduction Considering the incidence of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) and its implications on functional status and long-term survival, TR is currently undertreated. With the increasing adoption of catheterbased treatments of other types of structural heart disease there is a growing interest and need for effective interventional treatment also for tricuspid regurgitation. Therefore, multiple ...

متن کاملRepair or Replacement for Isolated Tricuspid Valve Pathology? Insights from a Surgical Analysis on Long-Term Survival
BACKGROUND Long-term follow-up data concerning isolated tricuspid valve pathology after replacement or reconstruction is limited. Current American Heart Association guidelines equally recommend repair and replacement when surgical intervention is indicated. Our aim was to investigate and compare operative mortality and long-term survival in patients undergoing isolated tricuspid valve repair su...
